Welcome to Bournemouth School for Girls!

I am proud to be Headteacher of this thriving grammar school, serving Bournemouth and the surrounding area. With over 1100 girls, including 300 students in the sixth form, BSG is a dynamic and exciting community to work and learn in.

We are committed to providing the very best possible education for our pupils, whether in the classroom, on the sports field, in drama and music or in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.

We are certainly a highly successful school - our 2011 A level and GCSE results make us again one of the top performing state schools in the country. Government league tables placed us 45th nationally in their list of top performing state schools and 54th in a listing combining top state and independent schools. Our school was also rated the top performing state school across Poole and Bournemouth and the only school locally to hit the top 100 for A level results in the Sunday Times 2011 Parent Power Survey of Top Schools .
